This unique and small-scale wilderness lodge is in the remote and historic Jamestown Bay on the forested shores of Lake McKerrow, Hollyford Valley inside the wilderness of Fiordland National Park.
This secluded log style lodge is surrounded by lush native New Zealand Podocarp rainforest, inhabited by a variety of native birds. The warm dry cosy lodge can cater for up to 6 lodge guests or 8 bed and breakfast guests.There is a master bedroom with a King size bed and ensuite, plus two other bedrooms with 2 single beds each. The living areas are open plan with the lounge having a wood fire and comfortable homely atmosphere. All rooms have a magnificent rainforest outlook.
Meals are simple homestyle fare prepared on a wood range. Likely to include local wild venison.
Charlies is a great base to explore from (see activities) offering upmarket wilderness accommodation at budget prices (see pricing) and is just over the mountains from Milford Sound (see Access).
Ideal for trampers to overnight in comfort after the rigorous of the Hollyford Track and Demon Trail. Great for Hunters, Fishermen, and Climbers to have a luxury base while chasing their prey or conquering the mountains or just a special hideaway for outdoor romantics.
